Assuring quality and encouraging local economy
Local production is at the heart of atelier b: our products will always be manufactured in the region where our workshop is located! Currently, the products that are not made in the workshop are manufactured in less than 10 kilometres away. We can also control the conditions in which the employees work and we are proud of our contribution to encourage the local economy by creating employment by subcontracting small independent workshops.
The transfer of know-how
Sewing is often transmitted from one generation to the next and it is a precious knowledge; however the nuts and bolts of this practice are not fully taught on school benches. The local expertise and the know-how are the cultural assets that must be protected and we are proud of contributing into the transfer of this knowledge.
Why not just at the workshop?
Managing a production shop is an art! This requires a lot of organisation, experience and space. We would love, one day, to have a bigger, more spacious workshop that can accommodate a larger team, but we do not want to rush things. For now, we keep the samples, small productions and special orders for us. For more popular styles, we collaborate with other workshops who can have a bigger production capacity.
