Wunderkammer Repatriation puzzle by Ordinary Habit
Wunderkammer Repatriation puzzle by Ordinary Habit
A 1000 piece puzzle to relax away from our screens. Illustration by Ilya Milstein. The concept that inspired the Wunderkammer Repatriation illustration is the appreciation of the artist for cultural artifacts and the issues with their historic looting. The scene depicts a small project of repatriation, showing the descendant of a collector attempting to identify and return the presumably ill-gained contents of her family wunderkammer with the assistance of a band of researchers. ‘Wunderkammer’ is literally translated as 'room of wonder’, which the artist prefers to the slightly derisive ‘cabinet of curiosities’, and it also offers a double-meaning: perhaps the real wonder in that room is the act taking place.
Each Ordinary Habit puzzle comes in a beautiful, durable storage box and the pieces are tucked away in a cotton pouch. Each piece is covered with a soft-touch anti-reflective coating.
