Henri, a failed and anxious writer, becomes a jealous monster when Laura, his girlfriend, tells him that she has landed the lead role in the new film by the libidinous and insufferable director Sylvain Pastrami. And now Dr Von Strudel has added another layer with her ground-breaking diagnosis of ‘turtle syndrome’, a disease that will leave Henri deformed and suffering within two years. That's all it took for him to lose his mind completely, and do everything he can to dissuade Laura from taking part in the filming...

Donc, le chaman va vous marier en dessous d’un saule pleureur… Pis à ce moment-là, y a Je suis un saule inconsolable qui va jouer en background. Ça va être très fort. Criss que ça va être dins dents du monde. T’imagines l’image? Du cinéma pur. Les gens vont chier. Les gens vont penser que le choix de la toune est ironique mais pas pantoute, j’aime ça pour vrai, Isabelle Boulay. Je trouve que c’est la plus grande voix du Québec et la plus belle femme du Canada. Pis si y pensent que c’est ironique, ben fine aussi. Tant mieux! Les deux sens marchent. Je veux que les gens interprètent ça comme ils veulent. TOUTES LES SENS SE VALENT, OK? TROIS, DEUX, UN, ACTION!
