Co-publication MOMENTA / Kerber Verlag

This publication was published to accompany the 16th edition of the Biennale de l'image (September 5 to October 13, 2019), curated by María Wills Londoño and in collaboration with Audrey Genois and Maude Johnson.

Published in English and French, it constitutes a documentary vehicle for the artists exhibited in the biennial and contributes to deepening the theme by proposing multiple avenues of reflection. The book includes a curatorial essay and several texts with varied profiles, written by specialists (philosophers, art historians, artists, etc.). It is co-published by Kerber Verlag, a German publisher who is responsible for its international distribution (outside Canada).

The texts are signed by Anne-Marie Dubois, Amanda de la Garza, Sara Knelman, Maude Johnson, Dominique Quessada and María Wills Londoño. Kapwani Kiwanga and Maryse Larivière each present an exclusive artistic proposal for this publication.

about our fabrics

For the past 12 years, we've been experimenting and refining our processes to work with the best natural fibers available. We select our materials for their durability, comfort, aesthetic properties, and the conditions in which they were produced. We prioritize suppliers located near our workshop. Many of our jerseys and knits are made in Canada, while some woven fabrics come from the United States. For more specialized materials, we work with Japan and certain European countries (mainly Italy and northern countries). It is essential for us to ensure that workers' conditions are fair, and the best way to be sure is to choose countries that have a charter of individual rights that resembles ours!

delivery

Our shipments are made from our Mile End (Montreal) workshop within an average of 3 to 5 business days. In Canada, delivery is free for orders of $150 before taxes and more. If the color or size you are looking for is no longer available, do not hesitate to write to us. Simply write to us at info@atelier-b.ca with the model you are looking for so we can suggest fabrics and colors! Orders sewn at the workshop are at the regular price (if the model is on sale, the discount does not apply to a piece sewn to order). Production time can vary from 4 to 6 weeks. Items from past collections sewn to order have a 10% surcharge. We can also make alterations to the pattern, in which case there will be an additional charge depending on the situation which can vary from 10 to 20%.
