Making a vat of Indigo from dry leaves is a unique and complete experience in connection with nature. It is a pleasure to see the indigo blue coming out directly from the leaf. It gives us a whole new understanding of Indigo dyeing.
This color does not just come from a powder, even though it is natural and comes from the plant world.

These Japanese Indigo leaves (persicaria tinctoria) come from their specialized dye plant garden. They do not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides in the cultivation of our plants.

This kit includes all the necessary products to start your tank:

- un illustrated explanatory booklet.
- 20g of sodium carbonate (soda ash).
- 15g thiouria dioxide.
- 10g Citric acid
- 100g Japanese indigo leaves (persicaria tinctoria).

100g of leaves will dye about 300g of fiber a dark blue (3 soaks) and more if you dye lighter shades. You can dye cellulose fibers - linen, cotton, hemp and protein fibers - wool and silk.

In order to preserve the colors as long as possible, it is important to keep your fabric away from the sun.

Wash by hand with a neutral ph soap. Do not hang outside to dry, prefer a place inside where it will be sheltered from the sun.

A project with the mission of increasing the accessibility of quality and local tinctorial plants and related materials. Dahlia also wishes to transmit her knowledge and actively contribute to the change of the textile industry to make it more sustainable.

We ship from our Mile End (Montreal) workshop in an average of 3 to 5 business days. In Canada, delivery is free for orders of 150$ before taxes and more. The shipping rate is fixed for Quebec and Ontario at 10$ and for the rest of Canada, 15$. For local delivery in Montreal, the fee is 7$ for orders under 150$. By entering your shipping address, you will know if the local delivery option is available to you.

Exchanges are accepted within 10 days of receipt of the package. A notice must be sent to info@atelier-b.ca to obtain return authorization. Items must be unworn and the package must include your name and order number. Shipping costs for the return are at the customer's expense and atelier b will pay for the return of the second item. A credit may be applied, no refund.
