This scarf is part of our ongoing reflection on the cycle of materials. This 100% silk square is inspired by our circular economy project and our collaborations with atelier retailles. This particular piece was created in collaboration with Sophie from atelier retailles, a paper-making workshop next door to ours.

With our textile scraps turned into pulp, we used a technique that Sophie developed with artist Marc-Olivier Lamothe. The pulp is used like paint to draw, while molds and shapes add to the composition. Perhaps you recognize the shapes used in our mobiles? The sheet of paper was then digitized and printed in Montreal on silk.

Dimensions: 25.5 x 25.5 inches.

100% silk. Machine wash in cold water on delicate cycle. For the first wash, wash alone, adding salt and vinegar to preserve color. Tumble-dry at low temperature or hang to dry. Iron using the appropriate setting for silk.

Designed in our Mile End workshop by Catherine, Anne-Marie and the whole team. Cut and sewn in independent workshops in Montreal, within a five-kilometre radius of our workshop.

Anne-Marie and Catherine are the inseparable friends who founded the brand in 2009. Their sustainable and minimalist clothing collections are designed in their Mile End workshop-boutique, then gently manufactured in Montreal from natural fiber textiles.

To learn more about the brand

We have been experimenting and refining our processes for a dozen years to work with the best natural fibers available. We select our materials for their durability, comfort, aesthetic properties and for the conditions in which they were produced. We give priority to suppliers close to our workshop. Many of our jerseys and knits are made in Canada, while some woven fabrics come from the United States. For more specialized materials, we work with Japan and some European countries (mainly Italy and northern countries). It is essential for us to make sure that the workers' conditions are fair, and the best way to be sure is to choose countries that have a charter of individual rights similar to ours!

We ship from our Mile End (Montreal) workshop in an average of 3 to 5 business days. In Canada, delivery is free for orders of 150$ before taxes and more. The shipping rate is fixed for Quebec and Ontario at 10$ and for the rest of Canada, 15$. For local delivery in Montreal, the fee is 7$ for orders under 150$. By entering your shipping address, you will know if the local delivery option is available to you.

Exchanges are accepted within 10 days of receipt of the package. A notice must be sent to info@atelier-b.ca to obtain return authorization. Items must be unworn and the package must include your name and order number. Shipping costs for the return are at the customer's expense and atelier b will pay for the return of the second item. A credit may be applied, no refund.

Masks, underwear and sale items are on final sale.

If the color or size you are looking for is no longer available, please write to us. We have an inventory of fabric in the shop that allows us to make any of our patterns, whether it is this one or a piece from a past collection. Just write to us at info@atelier-b.ca with the pattern you are looking for so we can suggest fabrics and colors! Orders sewn in our workshop are at regular price (if the pattern is on sale, the discount does not apply to a piece sewn to order). Production time may vary from 4 to 6 weeks. Items from past collections sewn to order have a 10% surcharge. We can also make alterations to the pattern, in which case there will be an additional charge depending on the situation which can vary from 10 to 20%.
