Véronique Buist is a multidisciplinary artist who works primarily with textile fiber. It was through her exploration of embroidery that she also became interested in the medium of paper, its manufacture, and the poetic potential it offers. Textile fiber is therefore both a support, an embroidered motif, and a subject of study: an element that can be revisited indefinitely. Her research primarily questions the notion of perception—figurative or literal—in the development of textures and the translation of concepts into embroidered patterns. The landscape and environment as we perceive them are a vast source of inspiration in her practice.

The fiber medium has created a meeting point between Véronique Buist and Anne-Marie, who gravitate towards Atelier Retailles. We are pleased to present her magnificent artist's book to spread her inspiring use of embroidery on handmade paper!
